I started this project thinking it would only take a couple of months and not too much invested. I have a 74 Camaro that I had recently restored the interior and the engine is fairly new as well and it became the donar car to keep expenses down. Well, after 8 months and and a whole lot of $$$ we are finally getting close to getting some paint on it. The only sheetmetal left from the original is the floor and firewall and part of the inner quarters. I have learned alot over the past months and have some ups and downs about the project. I was not sure haw to go with the project (Classic, resto-mod, pro-touring). After alot of thought the pro-touring option is definatly the look I want. I will continue to update the pics and details as we go.

Any plans for the suspension, trans, and such yet or are you waiting until the body is all buttoned up to decide?

The colors are Atomic Orange (2008 Corvette) and the stripes are Charcoal (GM). My wife picked out the colors. The original colors on the build tag are orange with black stripes, so we thought it would be nice to return it to those colors only with a more modern variation of them. I must say she has a great eye for color.

It's scarey how close our color choices are... Mine is getting sprayed with the Dodge tangerine color, and last week I was debating flat black or gray stripes. Going with the black... But because I have to now!

Beautiful car, I'm rather partial now!

P.s., what console is that? Thats super nice lookin.

Thank you, the center console is from a 5th gen. Camaro.

did you have to modify that console much? I thought they intergrated with the 5th gen dash more. it looks like it belongs there.

I had to make a bracket for the aft clips to fit into and install a little foam under the carpet to fill in the gap. I also "adjusted" the gas pedal to position it to the left a little. I installed power window switches in the console recently. I'll post that pic soon.

First I have to say as a fan of 2nd gens I am very impressed with the color combo and interior! I will need to keep pics away from my wife as she is a big fan of newer shades of Orange!!!

We are in Tampa so let me know when you are ready for Suspension mods! We are just a few months from moving into a new building off I-4 near Gator Ford. Maybe you could bring it to our Open House with sicknss71 and his car???

BTW: What rear end does your car have under it right now?

Anybody interested in meeting up at the NSRA Southeast Nationals next weekend (Oct. 12-14) at Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa? I went last year and there were alot of musclecars but only a few Pro-Touring, Streetfighter rides. This could be a cool event for us to get together for the 1st time.

Journey is playing Friday night at the Fairgrounds Amphitheater, and the Hard Rock Casino is about 1/2 mile from the event. There is a Ker's Winghouse across the srtreet from the fairgrounds which is a good place to grab some food and drinks and they are having UFC153 Saturday night.
