There was a guy at RTTS that sells insurance for cars on track days. I can not remember his name or username. Anyone remember him?

I'd bet it was Morgan Duffy, although he was very hard to get ahold of for me (never in the office) so I stopped trying. Don't know his username on here.

My insurance company writes "on track" policies and he knows our type of cars well. Let me know if you need more info.

Bill,

That was me and I'll be at RTTS again this year. Sorry that I've been absent from here but this past year was a a whirlwind for me and where I've been taking my business.

Great place to get per event coverage for this is www.ontrackinsurance.com and I'll make sure they add all the RTT* events to their event list. Another source for On-Track Physical Damage is Lockton but I don't know anyone there and don't know if they'll include the RTT* stuff as they cater more to the sports car crowd and not us. Neither of these programs are through my agency as I don't do Per Event coverage. I'm still focused on car guys (and gals Mary) but launched an exclusive coverage package program I created for affluent Collectors and Track rats last June.

I am always happy to help with questions about the different coverage out there and email is the best way to get me. [email protected].

I was briefly reading through, and it stated that HDPE coverage is when there is an instructor present in the car during driving; wouldn't that exclude PT type events?

Morgan drop me a line at [email protected] please as I liked the coverage last year and wanted to cover my rides at all the events this year...

Ryan,

You are correct in that to qualify as an HPDE event there have to be instructors but in 99% of all HPDE events there is an advanced run group that you get signed off to run in. That group does not have an instructor and is still covered under your HPDE policy. Last time I read Lockton's form and OnTrankInsurance's from they both covered Time Trials which is what takes place at any RTT* event. I'll grab the latest policy forms as you now have me curious and then I'll post my findings here.

How is the Cutlass coming?

Morgan, thanks for the info and for looking into it. The Cutlass is coming along. There was a little lag around the holidays, but i think they are about to get nuts on metal work, suspension mock up, and then paint / body.

Ryan,

When you get it done I'll make a trip down and we can head over to Atlanta Motorsports Park to take it for a bid. The club should be open this spring and will be a great track.
