1969 Mustang Mach 1 going a little bit of a different route. My plans are to make this a "period-correct" "supercar", please read my supercar comments in the '69 Camaro supercar thread to see how much of a hypocrite I am. This car will be based off of the best that Ford, Kar Kraft, Shelby, Smokey Yunick, Junior Johnson, Holman Moody and others had to offer in the 1960's. Along with some new touches.

Goals to match my favorite car of all time, the McLaren F1:
620 bhp
2500 lbs.
6 speed transmission
A/C and full stereo, no P/S, no ABS, no traction control
Carbon Fiber bodypanels

Chassis:
Mustang Center section with removable front and rear subframes of self design.
Custom vintage appearance dual adjustable shocks by Koni custom shop or Bilstein.
Z304 headed all-aluminum Ford 302 with twin Garrett 60mm turbo's and Dailey Engineering 4 stage modular dry-sump.
Dual inlet billet intake with 16 injectors, F.A.S.T. box, twin modified SW 240A electric fuel pumps ala GT40's.
CF hood, fenders, bumpers, mirrors, front and rear diffusers and decklid with changes for aerodynamics.
Shaved driprails and flush mounted glass.

What this car will not have:
Corporate logos, on any part sans Ford.
Appearance of an old car stuffed with new and aftermarket gizmo's for the sake of it being new.
A 10 point cage, this is not a race car (My feelings on race car vs street car are very conservative, but as long as it's driveable who cares really).
2nd place trophies.

I have spent 4 years planning and designing this build and assuredly the rest will blow your mind, though this may be a 2 year build as I am just now finishing my F100 and getting into bodywork on the Mustang.

Love it! Have you seen the A/SEX (A sedan experimental) Mustang that has been running with VARA in SoCal? Basically a modern Trans Am chassis under a 69 skin.
