How much problem is this for fitting wider tires ? Anyone cut and welded for removing it .

Yes, it's a problem for wide tires. Most common cure is a large hammer. However there are people who cut and weld. If you want to retain stock looking rear seat belts you can use the non retractable ones from the early 2nd gens. I think 70-72.

315 is the biggest I have ever seen, with the hump beat in and the fenders rolled. 295's are pretty safe if you nail the back spacing.
