8.5's only came in 72 and up fbodies...so your answer is no. The spring mounts are different. Width is close. You would need a... wait...your Ventura should already have an 8.5...just buy a gear set and posi unit for it.

not true, 8.5's came in misc novas/apolos/omegas, i believer 72-74, or something like that. A lot of the first gen F body guys use these for swaps, they are a direct fit. My friend got one from a 74 apollo(i think 74) from a local pick n pull, fit right in his 68 perfectly

rear end from FB 10 bolt 8.5 we were talking f bodies earlier...but yes, 8.5's were used after 71 in most body styles, but you will find alot of 71+ X bodies still running 8.2's. No F bodies after 71 used 8.2's. thanks for getting things confusing....don't you have a car to finish! :hammer:
