I picked up a fuse/relay box from an 03 LT1 to use under the hood for extra relays/fuses. It has TONS of slots for fuses and relays. I know I'll never use all of them. So I was wondering. Should I completely strip out all the existing wires and only wire what I need?? Or try and trace each wire and solder connections as needed. My gut feeling says to strip it and just wire what I need.

The terminals are pretty cheap. If you are ok with crimping your own, I'd strip it out and start over. You may be able to reuse any buss bars in it.

I have no problem crimping and soldering my own connections. But I can see where this might be a tedious task. At least I'll have someting to keep me busy over the christmas holiday ... LOL

It definitely takes some time. There is no real need to solder a properly crimped Metripack terminal. Make sure you have a good schematic before you start.

Ok Thanks. I plan on buying a good quality crimper. And a good schematic is definitely a MUST. I think I'm in my 3rd itteration of all my dash/gauge connections.

just a heads up, there is no 03 LT1. They were stopped in 97.
