I am competing in Optima Challenge and we are trying to make a last minute decision on the (non-coilover) shock package. It's a '68 Charger 3800lbs., big torsion bars and sway bars.

Trying to see if going from the monotube IAS shock to a single adjustable monotube shock like a RideTech, etc. would be worth the cost at this point. I know the adjustability would be nice but the Eddy IAS seems to hold up. We did up-size the torsion bars a bit and I am little concerned about over stressing the shock now.

I know this is broad question but I am down to it here and thought I would see if some input would sway me one way or the other.

Shocks and springs are the most important things (other than tires) to the way a car handles. Shocks can have a HUGE effect on how a car performs. You'll want rebound adjustablity for the autocross, this will allow you to "set" the car into a turn and keep the weight transfer there, rather than it just starting to spring back up again like the edelbrocks will allow.

Koni makes a hell of a nice rebound adjustable shock for your car, and is very reasonable for the top level performance you get:
