I found this kind of interesting. The previous holder was a $400,000 Lexus LFA. I got some details and pictures on www.AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com (http://www.AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com)

And that is why the 2009 ACR is still my favorite car. I've loved the Viper since its inception and one day I WILL own one.

Don't put too much weight in what times manufacturers claim around the ring. They don't send the same thing over that you and I can buy no matter what they say. Nissan sends GTR's on tires that aren't available from the dealership, the "production" ZR1 that features a roll bar that is claimed to somehow not stiffen the chassis at all, Porsche sending GT3 RS's around that somehow go 5mph faster down any straight than anyone else seems able to make them go............ the list of BS goes on and on.
The ring is a great track and I hope to make it over there to drive it someday but I would never buy or even give a performance car any credit based on testing claims made there.

I had thoughts of my own of what/who decides the criteria for a prodution based car and what modifications can be made. But it's still fun and is an indicator of the fastest cars.

The video of the 2012 Camaro ZL1 came out recently, it made it in 7:41, not too shabby.
More info on the link:

Here are some times of some other recent 'fast' times:
Viper ACR 7:12
Lexus LFA 7:14
Covette ZR1 7:19
Nissan GT-R 7:24
Ferrari Enzo 7:25
Camaro ZL1 7:41
True about some of the tweaking. But, watch the Enzo video, and compare to the Corvette ZR1, the Enzo was a handfull compared to the Vette, and the Vette required actual shifting... lol
The new Camaro ZL1 from inside the cabin appears almost calm at speed.
Too bad the recent Viper ACR video lacks RPM and speed unlike some of the others.
