A fellow member of CC.com (Jeff Tilton) had this awesome German Shepherd stray come to him.

Yesterday a stray German Shepherd came up to the garage while I was working on my car. She looked very worn down, hungry and thirsty. Doesn't look like it wore a collar at any time, very skinny, with long nails. My wife and I took her to our vet and found she does have a chip but there is no owner information associated with it. She was taken to the vet again today so they could check her out, give her up to date shots, and run blood and fecal tests (pending). They said she appeared to be in good health though 5-10 lbs. under weight (45lbs.) and missing a back tooth possibly a puppy tooth, but otherwise ok.
Because our dog is aggressive towards other dogs we can't keep her. There is a Greater Houston Area German Shepherd Rescue (ghgsdr.org) but they do not take in strays, just ones they find in shelters. At the moment we don't want to take her to the HSPCA since they and many other shelters are overcrowded due to the wildfires. If we have to take her to any shelter it will be http://www.noahsarksanctuary.org/ since they are a No-Kill shelter.
- Female German Shepherd (not spayed)
- About 1 year old
- Has been very well behaved so far
- Hasn't made any aggressive moves towards other dogs so far
- Not completely house trained
- Likes lots of attention
- Playful
We may be able to hold on to her for another day or two but not much longer. If you are interested or know someone who might be, you can email me at: jtiltonjr AT gmail DOT com.
