I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations among the following.

Corvette Z06 six piston calipers
Wilwood 6R six pistion calipers
Baer 6P six pistion calipers

I just can't decide which to go with and would like some feedback from forum members.

for the money it is impossible to beat the Z06 package. It would be real hard to find a circumstance were the Z06 package would not do the job 99% of the time at 1/2 the price.

I would argue that a Wilwood Superlite 4 caliper is superior to all of those. The c5 Z06 caliper is functionally identical to the non Z06 caliper, and if it were good, people wouldnt be replacing them in doves in corvette circles. I would look at 2 companys : AP Racing and Performance Friction Components. Both make great calipers in the same price rance. If you want the best get "Brake Man" brakes.

He is referring to c6 z06. They are dramatically different than c5zs

Well C6 Z06 brakes it is. I was at Fall Carlisle a couple of weeks ago and picked up a new in box set of C6 Z06 front and rear calipers for $800.

Just to clarify a little bit on James' Wilwood comment. The Superlite 4 has a larger swept area, 4.84 vs. 4.05 for the SL6 and can work with a 1.25" rotor vs. a 1.1 rotor. However, if you are looking at buying a kit, Wilwood themselves do not package a kit with that caliper but they do the SL6...

The big limiting factor is the tires. If you can lock up all 4 wheels you have enough brakes. For a car that won't see track days the old single piston disc/drum setup will do that. When you start seriously heating them up at the track then bigger discs with thicker rotors are needed.

For all of the brakes listed - assuming the same street tire size, pad compound, etc - I doubt you'd notice any difference, which to me makes the Z06 brakes the easy choice.

Hard to say without testing the brakes on the same car..

I am going with Willwood SL 13" 6 piston up front, and 12" SL in the rear. Are they better than others ? Without testing them both on my Car, I don't know....Whatever you put on, It should be sweet. Z06,Baer,Willwoods, Ect.....

For the track, an upgrade is a must...
