This is shaping up to be quite an event. There are many on that list that are serious contenders since they have both the car and driving experience to take the crown.

Yeah... me. Combine that with the fact that my car is 4,000 lbs, 20-feet long, runs a torsion bar front end, has leaf springs and a big ole' 850 double pumper atop and old school big block and I'm thinking this should be an interesting event.

I ran it last year with 278HP and 397 torque at the rear wheels. The biggest factor was not enough seat time...

I just thought it was funny that there was 1 guy on the entire list that had to advertise that he has 600hp. Maybe I've been desensitizes by the builds on this site and others but 600hp doesnt seem to be as big a deal as it once was.

But... in an effort to get this thread back on track... Who else is on the bottom side of the power curve here? I want to root for the underdog. I've got Mary with her shiny new Jenny Craig Camaro, Mr Angry and his always ready to be pushed to its limits Daytona... (I imagine you'll be driving from NY to Vegas for this?) What about the Bug? Its not sporting a Procharged LSx is it?

I doubt it. Big Red was there running exhibition I think the first year.

The lack of turn signals, wipers and so on make it not a street car.

Yep, Larry is right as Big Red did run Exhibition that inaugural OUSCI year. While this type of event isn't what that car was built for, it was one of the best days for me as I got to see the car that kicked ass at Silver State running 222 mph. Kudos to the Gottleibs for bringing Big Red out and letting us mere mortals enjoy a day with it.

I don't think Big Red will be there this year ...

Mary, will you be able to have any input on the layout of the autocross this year? I hope for your sake and the others competing that it is better than last year's.

Good luck everyone. I'll see you at the PT dinner.

Nope, not this year. That's a tough area to get a good, flowing course laid out on and still keep minimum distances for spectator and worker safety.

See you at the PT dinner and at OUSCI.

Yep, that is the Cortex Racing car. Unbelievable car and gotta think a strong contender. This field is gonna be stiff. And the line between race and street car continues to blur, but I like it.

Does that Mustang have the requisite cigarette lighter/power outlet? (assuming that's still a rule anyway) Looking at the car and driver combinations, the ante is really getting upped this year. We'll end up having to have Bruce bring the Cobra back out again in a year or two.

From my understanding spectators will have full access to the cars and pit area. I had to buy some of my crew passes so they can get in and help out, and I made sure they would be able to get to the car.
