I have finally gotten my 67 bird into my garage and started tearing the front end off for my build. without having explored too much I know that I will be replacing the quarters, rear valance, rockers and some of the floor/lower cowl. My question is, when I remove the rear and front sub-frame, how should I support the body? I intend to use at least some minor bracing welded inside the body while I replace structural elements, will simply blocking under the front sub-frame mounts and under the rear rails/leaf perches work? do I need to get carried away and bolt to all the sub-frame mounts and rear perches?

Here's the dolly we built for our '69 Convertible. We needed to be able to transport it from my parent's house, to the sandblaster's (1.5hrs away) back to my house (in between) so I could work on it.

I've been installing a complete floor pan in it, and thought the car would be ok given the bracing that was welded in (by the previous owner) but once I hung the doors to make sure the car wasn't bent or bending, I found out that it was indeed tweaked a bit. He must've taken the car apart, THEN welded braces in. I took it off the dolly and put jack stands under it to make a "level" surface, cut the braces out and rewelded them in place, and that did the trick.

Just take plenty of measurements and don't skimp on the bracing!

Thanks Josh, I was considering a wooden cart like that, are you bolted to the body anywhere or just perched on it?

Just perched on it. It's actually a dolly my parent's neighbor built for his '73 F-100. I did the body work on the truck and painted it, and after it was done, he didn't need the dolly anymore so I took it and we added some length to it.
