I'm looking to use a set of cheap mid lengths in my first gen with the old school sbc for ground clearance reasons. and the other reason being that it will get a ls engine pretty soon and I hate to waste the money on a good set only to take a beating when I sell them.

so anyway, the footnotes say that they will not fit with an 825 saginaw variable ratio power steering box. how do you tell if you have this 825 box??? I've searched online and cannot find the answer. can anyone offer assistance with ID'ing this box???

any help is greatly appreciated.

Most people call it an 800, or 800 series, box. Its the stock one that came on your car, and was used on most GM products from the mid 60s through the mid nineties. A lot of headers for '67-'69 Camaros don't clear power steering, without some massaging (even Hookers, which claim to fit). I've had good luck with Hedman headers on these applications.
