Here's Bill's awesome Forgeline Wheels and Pirrelli tires. The wheels are fantastic quality and Forgeline provided them mounted, balanced and ready to go.

Not much more to say but WOW!

Yep. Forgelines. And no, Bill, it's not my fault. You made that decision on your own. I only showed you the link. And to show you a different set of wheels too, for that matter!!! Damn nice choice though. Your car is gonna look killer.

Alright Bill whats next? You and I are going neck to neck. I wish I had known of Proidgy Customs before I had my car finished here in MI. It never even crossed my mind to ship my car out of town until I heard of you doing it on this web site.

Unfortunately because of my bad back I won't be installing things back together like you. Plus I now have three skids of misc parts and an engine sitting on a stand. I would hate to see what my shipping bill would be to send that stuff to Florida.

I'm enjoying your posts about your car and its progress. We even have some of the same thoughts. Take it to people that care. Make the car right, yet drive it when its finished.

Geez guys, Frank called and said he posted, but I am just getting home and checking the board. I am glad y'all like them. One look at Forgeline's website ( me--> :machine: :guilty: <--Allen,cause he sent me the link), and I was hooked. Tom and the guys at Forgeline are great to do business with and it has taken just over a month from the time I placed the order until they were delivered to Frank's shop today. They are very thorough with their fact finding to assure the proper wheel for your specific application. My only complain is I, like everyone else are looking at them on this site rather than rubbing them alittle tonight. I will see them soon enought though, and they will be mounted on the goat. Now if Frank can get the clearence measurements in a day or so, I can order the last biggy- The magnacharger. After that, it is downhill, or at least it better be, I have sold about everything I own to get this far (Harley, pontoon boat,camaro)-LOL.
Thanks for posting the pictures Frank, like Steve said though, get that article written now :lmao: (Blame me Steve,I had to see them) and thanks to everyone who commented on them. I must say I am proud of them.

You were posting while I was so I did not see this until after my last one. First, thanks for the comments. Second, while I enjoy doing some of the work, I am not qualified to do the stuff Frank is doing. Nor do I have the time anymore. So when I decided to do this car, I went and checked out Frank and his shop. I am sure there are qualified shops closer to me, but he and I hit it off immediately and I knew he was the one I wanted to do the car. I guess the thing I was so impressed with and still am for that matter, is he takes the time and goes the extra mile to do things right and does not cut corners. I have learned from bad past experiances that cheapest is not best, and you truely get what you pay for. So even though I do not like the costly phone calls, I appreciate them in the long run. So that is why I took it 700 miles away. Third, as all that came here this weekend know now, I do believe in driving my stuff. If I wanted art, I would buy a painting. The paint on the malibu was still wet Friday, but we were riding in it none the less. The goat will be the same way, if it gets a scratch or two, I bet I can get more paint-LOL.
Thanks,
BTW I have not had a chance to post this latest rendering since Kris sent it. Notice the Aurora seats with built in head rest front and rear and the built in shoulder straps. Got to see the actual logo too this weekend and it looks great. The car should really start coming together in the next month. By the first of August I should be on the way home with it.

Don't let them stitch your passenger seat logo backwards like in the rendering! LOL

That was so I could see it right in the rear view mirror. :lmao:Funny you would see that because when the guy first did the front seat covers, he copied the original seats. Sometime in the life of the car, it ended up with two left seats. Sure enough, he had made two left seat covers which is a reverse image of the right side. :hand: He did exactly what I told him to do, copy the original seats. He had to look at the rear seat to understand that there was supposed to be a difference and I had just not paid enough attention to what was actually in the car. Just assumed it had the right ones in it. You know what they say about assumming.........
I was :attn: and he was saying, "but I copied the original ones".
Just another day in the life of rebuilding these sleds....

I thought you first saw them on my 68? :)

And yes.. Forgeline is a good company to do business with. Which is nice since I will probley need them to change the backspacing on my front wheels..

Looking good Bill!! When will she be done for the photoshoot? :)

If you think a 65 GTO is not a huge sled, look at this picture of the 20 mocked up for the rear profile. It still looks small from this angle.

Bill, instead of getting the pic from directly behind the car, get one from behind it, but just off to the side of it. That will really show you how wide it looks. Put that car on the ground and be ready to take a crap.

ProdigyCustoms
07-03-2005, 04:40 PM
I have not weighed them, but they feel the same as 335 / 18s. They are the same width at 13.8 section as 335 / 18s, but taller by 2 inches.
Here is a pic from the side on Bill's car, and as always, we try out every wheel on Prodigy to see what it will look like. The 345s really do a nice job of filling the 67 wheel wells, also 19s up front work well to.
BTW, that is ride height, with travel, on both rides. About a 8" rocker height on the GTO, 6" on Prodigy

Bill & Frank,

Those wheels look great under there!!

P.S. If they feel the same as 335/18s, to get a rough idea of weight, my 335s weighed 32lbs a piece according to UPS.

Andrew

I'd guess 30-35lbs? The whole combo is probably around 65-70lbs or so. I'm actually interested in the weight of the wheels myself, as compared to an 18x12 with 335s. Let us know what you come up with, Frank.

ProdigyCustoms
07-05-2005, 02:12 PM
Interesting, they are 1LB lighter then the 335 /18s on rims. I thought it is the Forgeline wheels but tlooking at the tire weights on Tire Rack, it says the tire are 30LBS for the 345 / 20s and 32LBS for the 335 / 18s.
Total weight is 65LBS

Bill Howell
07-05-2005, 04:07 PM
I know, I know, before someone starts, this is probably too heavy for a true protouring car. Guess what though, it is lighter than the a/c and all it's associated parts. :lmao:
Still Posing,
