I'm Looking at the spectre cold air kit for a ls1 in a sec gen camaro and the price is high. I know they have great products but I would like to know what you guys have in your cold air kits that you have made. If you could include who you got your parts from and maybe some pics.
Just trying to see If I can save some money and make one that goes down and passes through the inner fender down by the radiator on the passenger side like on the DSE sec gen
Thanks

I haven't done mine yet, but a friend put one on his lsx for just over $200. He bought separate Spectra pieces from Auto Zone. I am looking at using the Airaid UBI kit (just the tubes) to build one. I seen someone on ls1tsch used it and had it painted. http://m.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1457010

I talked with spectre this weekend at the LS fest and they hooked me up with the single intake with all the boots clamps, filter and heat sheild for a ls1 in a sec gen f-body, They also offer a dual setup but I would need to convert my MAF and that would be $$$ so I just got the single for the pass side, I will post some pics when I get it, They gave me the setup shipped for $249...

Same here. I was able to build two kits out of the AirAid UBI kit, one for my '67 Chevelle LS3 and one for my '61 Chevy Parkwood wagon LY6. Tubing size also fits perfectly with our 100mm MAF sensor. :)

This will help you improve it even more, although it's slightly outside the scope of your question: https://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?71866-cold-air-intake-shield...
