I wondered if anyone has any knowledge of anyone putting 2011 camaro parts onto a 1969 camaro and what it would take?
I have a 69 camaro and a salvage yard has a 2011 SS camaro in its yard.
The thought of it being even possible gives me goose bumps.

Which parts? Motor and trans is a common swap...

I am talking about the whole rear suspention. The complete front frame and all and converting to the 69 body, essentially making the 69 with as many 2011 parts as possible.
The 2011 has a salvaged title, I am thinking of buying the complete car and using more than the engine and trans. even the intereior

Consider the physical sizes. The 1st gen is a relatively small car compared to the 5th gen thats a lumbering boat of a car.
IMO you'd be better off just using the engine and maybe see if the brakes could be retrofitted.

Anytime this has been attempted the finished product never seems to live up to the promise.

I wanted to cut down a '10 bumper and fit it in my friends 68. he wasn't too motivated to see this done since the car is just a shell with the floor cut out sittin on a random square tube frame. lol
don't do the suspension from a 2011, i may hurt a few feelings here, but my old bucket at just about every event this year is faster than those 2011 rattle cans, I would like to get one anyways, but they need alot of work to get up to speed, just take the motor and trans

West Coast customs tried a while back but ended up using a new GTO instead. They had major work sectioning the chassis in both length and width to get it to fit and still had a ton of massaging to do on the body to get everything to clear. I think they built the car for the lead singer for Korn. Monster energy sponsored the car. You can probably find the video on the web.

check out my SSAWD camaro project. It is a 1968 front and a 2010 rear. We can do it for you.

I got side tracked, almost bought a 1971 240Z 6.0 project, then that deal fell through. The 2011 camaro was sold before I could get my hands on it. I am still Thinking about an ls swap. Just having a hard time justifiing the cost. Also I just had the 350/th350 built for my car and it only has about 3000 miles on it. Car needs paint too. Daughter going to college and another daughter right behind her. I think just as much or more about selling the car. It's the practical thing to do.

Someone did a version of the new on the 69 back when the new model was still a sketch, not very nice. G-force concepts had a white camaro featured in june 2010 camaro performers that used a few small 5th gen features in custom work ,such as mail slot on upper valence. This tastefully combined a little new & old. The engine &trans from the 2011 would definitely be a nice improvement.
As far as fitting a new camaro fascia to an older vehicle , such as my 83 'el camino, I can personally say this is not a project for the faint of heart (or fab skills).
