After I purchased the Chevelle and swapped in an LS2 I was left with a new 350 that way laying around. My dad tried to sell it locally, but didn't get any buyers. We decided it was best to find something to put it in and try to sell the whole thing.

Then of course I find a '63 Pontiac Catalina wagon and now I'm putting the 350 in it... and keeping it. LMAO

Any of you guys pay for a chop top recently? What price range am I looking at?

Arrrgggghhhh - A SBC in a Pontiac! That's like taking a steak sandwich, pulling out the steak and remaking it with spam. No taste.

This is a long term project, I have too much money in the others already so this car will be a driver and just really slow going together... pretty sure it will get an LS treatment or something cool like that 572 down the road :)

Cool! I like wagons...and gold Chevelles. You, sir, have good taste.

(I vote for a 455 Poncho in the wagon..they can be done on the cheap and still make killer torque)

Nah, I'm not a purist. I've got no problem with whatever you want to do. I just like pulling the chain of all the chebby guys here. If you've got a spare SBC and it's a driver, put it to use. I would say, down the road for whatever the "permanent" motor is, I'd either LS or keep it a nice poncho motor. I'm making as much power as most 572s with a 462 stroker. That being said, it can be a PITA as you have less choices in how you do it.

That's an option, I'll have to look at it when I get that far. For now my priority is the "chop", rear doors and interior. I want it to look like a beater, sound like a muscle car and feel like a limo inside to start.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with my collection to date. I'm out of garage space :(
