I have all GE profile in my home. They seem to be reliable. Had the same brand before my home burned from the wild fires in 07.

try looking in consumer reports, theb check the web for the models you want and see how many complaints or issues people are having.

I have always been a Kenmore/Sears buyer. you can get basically the same prices or better, service is always easy and selection is as good as it gets.
My brother is a kitchen contractor and gets discounts on just about everything and when I compared prices with his discounts and then added the delivery charges it wasn't any better than the sales at Sears.

The only thing that really stands out that he sells are the enclosed/in cabinet Bosch dishwashers. those babies are so quiet that when we were testing one in a customers home the lady asked us when we were going to test it while we were standing in front of it,lol. You couldn't hear it at all when it was running. I also like the Subzero refrigerators/freezers, my parents had one that lasted 40 years before it died. I use it now to store paint and parts so they never freeze in my garage.

GE Profile as well. Replaced the oven control panel and upper heating element as it was just out of warranty($180ish). Replaced the fan motor that cools the transformer in the mircrowave as it was just out of warranty($60ish). The glass top oven surface is a PITA to keep clean.(read: spotless) The fridge seems to be working fine (knocking on wood). The dishwasher carriage racks are already beginning to rust, a few of the uprights that hold the dishes in place have rusted off. Do your homework, not sure I'd go with GE again.

Edit: I purchased and replaced all the parts myself. There are many parts available for the GE line.

I work for an appliance service company, I always recommend Whirlpool. easier to get parts, cheaper parts. better tech support, better built. When I buy for myself thats what I get.

Kenmore/Sears also has a Commerical/Builders model line and if you purchase more than one appliance they offer some really good pricing.

I just replaced all our appliances about six months ago I went with Maytag stove, Samsung fridge, General microwave and dishwasher is Maytag. they are all stainless steel reason I picked different brands was based on their reviews in consumer reports. I also got six months zero financing to sweeten the deal.

Not a comment on best brands, but when we bought our diswasher in Cali we bought Bosch, because it was the quietest available at the time. We live in an old foundation and floor joist house built in '54, and we had 2 diswahers before, they would rattle the place. Might want to look to quietest appliances.
