Hallo,
we (three car-crazy German people, 2 Girls, one Guy) are visiting the show first time this year. We're :bananna2: looking forwar for it.
We heard, that one day after the show there's a meeting with members (Eating/drinkin'/discussing).
Will there be one this year, too? Has anyone already heard about it? We'd really like to join.
Please give us information if you have.
See us at sema :attn:

Cool, that's quite a trip. Make it to the dinner and you can chat with my mom who will probably be there with me and my dad, she's also from Germany (Wertheim.)

Hey, very cool! I will look forward to meeting you all, I lived in Germany for a couple of years, WAY back in 86 - 88, outside of Stuttgart. I loved it there, completely. There will be a lot of people from here attending the event, look for upcoming announcements, meeting places, and of course, the dinner. It should be huge this year.

Let me ask a question... Do you have to be a professional in the industry and a member of SEMA to attend? My brother, father, and I were going to attend until SEMA told us we were SOL unless we're "in the industry". WTF? Is that right?

SEMA is a trade only show, consumers are not invited. In order to get registered, you need to show credentials that show you are in the industry. In actuality, it is pretty loose, I was working at a medical laser company and got in with this as the basis last year.

I hear you might need a tax ID number or some other form of I.D. this year. Anybody else hear that?

Question:
We've already checked in as an attendee, as Friends own a 'shop' for repairing/service/Trading with old american cars.
What does Tax ID mean in this case? If you explain, please use 'easy' words for Non-english-speakers.....
Visiting Vegas and standing outside the hall..... Imagine hell is better...

Geez, if it's pretty casual, I can probably get a quicky "business" setup with a DBA under my own SSN, which would serve as the tax id number. Hmmm... "DarkBuddha's crappy automotive photochops and hot rod hot dog stand" ... sounds like a good business name to me... :3rd:
