HP is a calculation involving RPM, so if you spin is high enough it makes good power numbers. I'm curious what it makes at 3000 RPM.. and of course torque.

But I bet having an engine that spins 9k would be crazy fun at the track. :)

Thats the point of this engine, it will never see 3000rpm in regular use, it will probably see 5000-9000RPM for over an hour sustained in its use. Simple math says it makes 362 foot pounds. Its much like a nascar engine, it doesn't matter at all how much power it makes below 7000rpm, cause you'll never use it there.

GM did extensive testing with this style of engine(in fact id be willing to bet I can name a few names that are at lingenfelter now) and had MUCH better results with it. There was a 300ci 3 valve flat plane LS that made great power, spun to 10,000 rpm, and had an insane BSFC that GM had a few of that never got made due to production tolerances. I think with CAFE going where it is that kind of BSFC would attract more attention to this technology. We can hope right?

At 9000 rpm you can just gear it to have all the torque you want. lol

I do agree though. Need to know what the curve looks like.
