How much Horsepower does a stock LS1 out of a 2002 Camaro SS make? How much FT/LB torque does it make? Thanks!

They were rated around 310 or 315hp and 330 or 340 ft/lbs SAE net

Thanks for the info! I wonder how that would do in a heavier car like my Chevelle?

Great!

We used to Dyno them brand new at the dealer I worked at, and the T56 cars were putting 305-307 down to the wheels brand new. A little under rated from the factory...

Thanks for the reply. I bet with a little work and tuning the LS1/T56 can put down some good power for a street car. I don't know exactly what would have to be done, but 450-500 HP sounds really good!

Heads/cam/truck intake could get you there!

Which truck intake? And what's the approximate cost for heads for these engines? Thanks!

When my 2002 SS was stock it put down 313/333 SAE on a dynojet through an M6. With LT headers and a lid 346/360. Added a Vengeance VRX4 cam and went to 400 (on a dyno that reads 5% lower than a dynojet). If I added some good heads I'd have been closer to the 420rwhp on the lower reading dyno

Truck intakes off the 6.0 or 5.3 liter trucks (Tahoe, Silverado, Escalade, etc...). It's a larger intake than the LS1/6/2/3/7's and does not fit under the hood or cowl of a 4th gen fbody. Heads range from mild to wild; Patriot heads are the cheapest for aftermarket, or you can get a set of Corvette 246 cast heads and have them worked over by WCCH, or go to TEA or AFR for good top of the line heads that will run you 2k+

AFR Heads + Elgin Cam + Truck intake = Big power that's extremely streetable.
