I'm looking at the following for my LQ9 engine.

TSP v2 232/234 @ .050 .595/.598 111 LSA

Any opinions on this cam? My car obviously won't be a daily driver, but I want it to drive nice on trips to shows, rod runs. etc. I'm really looking forward to autocrossing the car so that's why the lower LSA appeals to be as it will bring the power in a little sooner.

On the other hand, I know that EFI is easier to tune with higher LSA's so I don't want to get something that will not be easily tuned. I want to avoid bucking etc. I've read alot of people of LS1Tech use these cams in a daily driver, but most are 112LSA which shouldn't be that much different, 112 LSA vs 111 LSA.

Thanks,
Kerry

I am running a 228/232 with near the same lift and on a 112. The stick shift cars are a bit more prone to bucking/surging than auto. At least that has been my experience. We kept tweaking the tune on the low speed end, and mine is pretty good now. This is in an LS1, the 6.0 may be a bit more forgiving being a slightly bigger motor. I am running a cable TB, the DBW TB might be more forgiving. I recently replaced 3.73's with 4.10's and the motor definately responds better. Your chevelle is probably a bit heavier than my camaro, but should be close. I wouldnt go any bigger than the cam you listed, if anything maybe a bit smaller, based on what you are looking for out of the car. Sounds like a nice build.

I am a big fan of stock cams. In my L92 I am using a LS7 cam and its great.

Since you are looking to autocross the car I would definitely recommend the 228R. Once you get into the 230's duration on these motors you really start to notice the power band move up in the RPMs. The 228R has been a great daily driver/road course cam for us over the years.

Thanks for the opinions. I'd expect the 6.0 to soak up the v2 so as to not lose the bottom end nor shift the power band very high. It seems I still have a lot to learn on these LS engines.
