Coronado Speed Festival - San Diego, Sept. 24-25

I will be attending this for both Saturday and Sunday; can't wait to see vintage trans-am :D. Any one in SoCal planning on being there?

This is a kick-ass event that I try to attend each year but unfortunately I'll be out of town this year and will miss it. Bummed about that. Watching and listening to those vintage cars go around the track and being able to walk through the pits and staging areas really gets the blood flowing. Last year we entered my Camaro into the car show and ended up getting first in our category which was cool because we then got to do 2 parade laps around the race track. Being the big kid that I am, of course I had to let the car in front us get far ahead so we could have a little fun on parts of the track during the 2 laps. Also got to test drive an AMG Mercedes and new Camaro on some AutoX courses they setup in the vendors section and had a blast. Great location and great Naval aircraft show too. Have fun!

I will try and be there. My first baby will be born the week before. It would be a good way to get introduce her to cars!

I live about 5 blocks from the air base where this is held. If anyone wants to hook up and go just shoot me a PM. We might even have a pre-game set up with!

Larry, It is either the last or second to last. There is a small vendor corridor but again mostly car related and a food court, also a static airplane display.

Larry, there is plenty of stuff to do off the Navy base and away from the Speed Festival. I am sure she would enjoy the beach (Coronado voted the 2nd best beach in America), there is the Hotel Del Coronado as well. It is a historical landmark with great shops and a beautiful property that she could easily spend a few hours wondering on the property. We have a few extra bikes. If she can ride a bike she can wonder about the island and check out the historic homes and all the beautiful properties in town.
She'll probably have a better time than you!

I am going with a few friends. I wouldnt mind meeting up with you guys. I try to go to this every year.
Last year I saw Goldburg wondering around. I guess he got the bug to build a car I see.

Larry, they also have a car show there. Last year they had the new camaros that you could test drive around a small coned course.
Food, music, and other things.

If she wants to use my wife's beach cruiser to ride around town just let me know. It's an extremely bike friendly town.

Well Im not gonna be back until the 28th, did those guys do any work for you yet or is this the first time your going to them? I went up there to talk to them about the GTO engine. They seemed like a good group but I dont know anything about them

First time I've used them or anyone for that matter (except for the engine build).
