Hi everyone, new to the site. I want to build a Pro Touring 69 Camaro and was wondering if anyone has any experience with those new bodies that are available for $13K? How is the fit and finish? Are they worth the money?
Also any suggestions on where I could find a nice 69 project car? Thanks:cheers:

We have done a couple of those and they are good quality now. however you would be much beter off finding a original car with a real title. Those assigned titles have really shown their affect on value on some finished cars that have sold or attempted to sell.
Without completely making this a sales call, we can do rollers in various stages of completion. Right now I have a 68 body, all metal done, body in Epoxy primer, Mini tubs installed and has a Fatman Subframe under it and can be bought with title for a few pennies more then a dynacorn body.
We also have 67 and 69s we can do to whatever level of completion you want

The Dynacorn bodies have no soul to them. Imagine how much ass a 68 or 69 Z/28 kicked back in the day long before it was any of ours. I remember riding in my Dads Z he bought new when I was a kid. I still love to work on that car.

I have 67s, 68s and 69s donors. At minumum we would want to doo all the sheetmetal work but can go to wherever you say stop. Give me call and lets see how far you need us to take them.
Believe it or not, this is a roller we delivered a couple weeks ago. If you look close, no brakes, no wiring, no interior, just the way we delivered it.

I'll definitely give you a call sometime this week. If you do the body work, is there any kind of garuntee/warranty against blistering, bubbling stuff like that? One thing I can't and won't stand is building a car and then having rust start coming threw and or paint starts to bubble! 8^)
Thanks for your time, I look forward to speaking with you.

Frank,
Can you give an example from an auction website where a new body Camaro didn't go as high as expected due to being a new body?
I can see where some may have problem with it.

Look at E Bay, finished, unfinshed, they are bringing pennies on the dollar. A friend ran a REALLY nice blue convertible through Barrett a couple years ago, got $80K for a car should have brought 50% more, but that can happen to any car. I think the new body hurt it a lot.

That one has DSE Subframe, Quadralink, the Forgelines in 19s and 20s, Sitting in the engine compartment is our Podigy Power 6.2, T56 Magnum kit. So lots more then sheetmetal Paint and Body

I would rebuild an original car ! We have done them in many stages from quarter repacements to full shell restos !
Here is one we did for a customer. There is no filler in the car and all gaps were within 3/16 of an inch.

I have seen a lot of threads on cars where most of the body panels and floor pans have to be replaced. At some point it seems to me that it would just be more cost effective to salvage the VIN tag from a rusty donor car and attach it to a new body.

Be careful with this! I don't know about where you are but in CA only a licensed shop can remove a VIN. PERIOD! DMV and the CHP get really involved if they find out.
With that said....I like the idea.

CamaroRich,
I had some work done by Frank (smooth firewall, engine, transmission, rear end, air conditioning just to name a few) and his crew and believe me you can trust him he is a man of his word and stands behind what he does no questions asked. In fact, I already have plans to have him put in rear tubs, new interior as well as as doing some body work and paint.

OK Frank,
Here's my roller. My question to you is this, in your opinion should I go ahead and complete it with the current paint (which is about 30 years old) or should I do the bodywork and paint before I proceed any further. I would also like your opinion about how to properly roll the rear fender lips and would like to know what your current backlog is on a complete paint job? Just FYI, I installed the minitubs and removed the interior and I have yet to find any rust so I can say with confidence this is a rust free 68 and there is only some plastic filler in the rear lower pan below the bumper on the driver side. I have owned the car for 40 years and it has been always been stored in a garage.

I don't roll lips, I trim lips. Depnding on what you want to do for additional work. If you fab work is done you can paint anytime.
As for our backlog, depends on what we are doing. Full builds.............we are jammed. Got some really nice builds finishing up right now.
In and out work, do it everyday.
We just need to chat about what exactly you need us to do and how big a job it is.
