As I prepare to replace a trunk pan in a 1969 Camaro along with the fuel tank, I thought it would be the perfect time to convert the fuel filler position to the 67-68 style to raise the opening. Unfortunately the original fuel caps for the 67 and 68's are non-vented. So that I don't run into any problems with fuel starvation with an LS1, is there a vented version of this somewhere, or am I looking at even more fabrication to make it work?

67-8 caps are vented. That's all I use on mine for venting.

Ok, after additional reading I think I figured out where the original information was causing the confusion... While nearly all gas caps are vented to allow vacuum release (to prevent fuel starvation), not all are vented to allow evaporative pressure to escape, and those that are range from releasing it freely to only releasing it once the pressure reaches a certain level. This is why some cars spurt fumes when opening the gas cap on hot days. As long as the 67-68 caps vent inwards to prevent starvation issues, then I can deal with manual release of any pressure issues.
