Not good. I have had this car since I was 16 (first car) and finally got her on the road this summer after quite a few mods and this happens... 65' impala SS
Does anyone have any recommendations on a supplier of good body panels? I hear rumors of some that fit well and some that dont fit at all... Not a good way to start the weekend...

Damn..that sucks. Check with Auto Metal Direct. Not sure if they have Impala metal but they are probably the best metal out there right now.

Bad news is the aftermarket doesn't support the big cars very well...
Good news is that the good used original stuff isn't picked-over nearly as much as the Camaro & Chevelle stuff, so you should be able to find really nice original GM parts for it with some effort.

There is a antique/classic auto salvage near me. They have a huge assortment of vehicles and parts. They are on the pricey side, but if you need it and they have it what do you do? I looked and they have a few 65s under the parts car tab. I don't know how well they update their site or how frequently.

Here is the link with their info ctcautoranch (http://ctcautoranch.com/index.html)

Check with GM Sports Salvage in San Jose, CA. They've got a lot of the full-size cars in inventory.

You could always check with Desert Valley Auto parts in Arizona. Parts from there are usually rust free and chrome tends to be next to perfect because on the low humidity. http://dvap.com/

What Mary said... You can't beat the fitment of an OEM fender. GM Sports has a bunch of stuff that's not listed on their website too.

Nope, I should have though! I was too pissed to even go near the dear, for fear that I would be the crazy guy kicking a deer corpse. (Also, it is illegal to take road kill like that for food)

In what state? Around here (IL) some of the cops will actually ask you if you want to keep the deer... They just need to make a note of it on the accident report and notify the DNR... The only thing Ive heard is that it is illegal to keep it without notifying authorities...

Here's a section taken from the website jointly developed by the IL Dept of Natural Resources and University of IL:

What To Do If You Find A Deer That Was Killed Or Injured By A Motor Vehicle And You Wish To Claim It

White-tailed deer killed/injured as a result of a collision with a motor vehicle may be legally possessed by an individual if the following criteria are met:

The driver of a motor vehicle involved in a vehicle-deer collision has priority in possessing a deer. If the driver does not take possession of the deer before leaving the collision scene, any citizen of Illinois who is not delinquent in child support may possess and transport the deer.
There is no limit to the number of deer that may be possessed under these circumstances.
Individuals who claim a deer killed in a vehicle collision shall report the possession of the road-kill deer to the Department of Natural Resources within 24 hours via the IDNR website at http://www.dnr.state.il.us/law3/images/Road_kill.pdf or report the possession of the road-kill deer by telephoning (217)782-6431 no later than 4:30 p.m. on the next business day.
Except for any law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties, it shall be illegal to kill a deer crippled by a collision with a motor vehicle.
No part of a vehicle-killed deer can be bartered or sold.
The State of Illinois is absolved of any and all liability associated with the handling or utilization of vehicle-killed deer. This does not, however, relieve involved parties from reporting other liabilities to appropriate agencies as required.
