I have a 67 Camaro, with an L92. I am using the edelbrock Victor JR intake, holley 750, with the msd ignition controller. I have a 2" cowl hood, and the hood won't fit even without the air cleaner. I am using a 1" spacer, but even if I eliminate that it still won't solve the issue. I am using the BRP engine mounts, and my oil pan is about 1/2" from the crossmember and that's being generous. I thought that the Vic jr and GMPP intake's were the only one's to make the engine carb'd, anyone made it fit in a 1st gen f body without an enormous hood? I don't want the look of a higher cowl, and it's just simply not an option. Idea's?

I had the exact same setup. Ran no spacer though. Trimmed the lip off my air cleaner base as much as possible. It still barely rubbed with my air cleaner if you run a k n filter lid you should be ok mine is a spun aluminum one that bows up pretty good. Just recently switched to performer rpm and now have no issues

Guys, how do you think I would go doing an L92 swap into a 68 that's fuel injected? Hood is a 2" cowl. What about the alternator? Any clearance issues there? Its been suggested that I switch to an LS3 intake and different alternator bracket - any thoughts?

I think the OP had problems because he was using BRP mounts which raise the engine quite a bit compared to other mounts.

rick- I switched to LS3 style intake and just ditched the carbed setup. For the Alternator I ran the C5 stock mount. Got it at the chevy dealer, special order just told them 2001 corvette, but it was only 80$ oppsed to the qwik thats over 300 and it looks just as good. For the ac I used the Qwik mount as I didnt want to notch my subframe. The alt clears and with the original efi it has LOTS of clearance. So dhutton commented it was based on my mounts,......the oil pan almost hits the subframe, if it ewas any lower it weould hit. how are the other mounts lower?

Depending on wether you have VVt or not i think you would need to space out the C5 stock mount to clear.
