So my boss takes a road trip to Northwest a few weeks back, and runs across this 69 Chevelle wagon all dressed up like a Yenko... called me super excited about his find. I tell him there was never a yenko wagon. He proceeds to remember seeing one in a magazine and long story short... its getting shipped here.
This is what he was remembering... http://blogs.hotrod.com/ebay-find-yenko-inspired-69-chevelle-wagon-8559.html
He now has a replica of a clone... So what should we do with this thing?

Well if it looks like that blue one, paint the master cylinder and change the heater hoses and drive the wheels off it! Pretty killer IMO!! Love the big block and extra pedal!!
If it don't look like the blue one.....make it!! LOL!

Turns out it has a 454 dressed as 427, and auto trans. As you can see this not quite the same condition as the HR article one.

That reminds me of my high school days, the neighbor had a 307 auto wagon...

Hmmmm, match the Camaro. Black with red Yenko stripes, lowered, fat 18's with black centers...

Just enjoy it. Wagons are a lot of fun. Keep your expectations low, and it'll surpass them. LOL!
If you really want to have fun, upgrade the suspension, rolling stock, and brakes. Mine works pretty good on-track, down the 1/4-mile, and out on the open road. I just won Car Craft RSE with it, so it can't suck too bad.

I think it's cool!
Different is good.
My parents has a wagon back in the day and I used to love that thing!
Full suspension, brake and wheel swap to update the handling and stance ASAP and an overdrive if it needs it on the freeway and you will be golden!

Sounds about right if the car was coming to my house instead of my boss. I'm sure even if my test drive is only one time... I will have fun!:drive1:
Should be showing up any day. I will post a some more pics!

That's what you call paying "tribute" to a "clone"!

That's pretty cool looking- the stripes look like somebody cared enough to try hard. It's screaming out for an SS hood though! Too bad you're not keeping it...I'd love to see what you could do with it.

We pulled the engine and replaced the rear main, and oil pan gaskets... Leaving 12" puddles everywhere it was parked. Fixing a few small things and ordering some missing pieces, and then we will see if we can get the money back out of it.

Not even if the floors were solid!!! I would much rather drop that LS 427 in my car... Call me greedy haha!!! Station wagons are the bosses thing, not so much mine :)

I know this is an old one, but turns out I might be the new owner of this chevelle wagon. I have never wanted it, but through a little horse trading I might have just got it for what I think it pretty cheap.
I'll let you know.

I am a long roof lover, I like it. The only thing that I dislike about these a-body wagons is the spare tire well showing below the quarter.

I still am mixed on it, but I might be taking it on trade for the purchase of my convertible Z28, and I plan on reselling to make up for lower price on the convertible.

Cool wagon! I like how the owner modified the quarter panel decals from SC (Super Car) to SW (Super Wagon). That is a one of the largest Chevy wagons of the era. It would be cool lowered a little investment of some 17" Torque Thrust IIs to greatly improve it for resale.
Nice!

Yes the SW decals are very neat, and however made them did a nice job. They are showing their age as the paint is. I was contemplating cutting the paint and polishing it to help bring back some deeper luster, but the decals worry me, like leaving an unpolished edge around them or damaging them, then not being able to reproduce them.
I was pressing for a Craigslist set of Boss 338's in an 18" & 20" before I ended up re-finishing the wheels for my boss. But I kinda doubt I will change the wheels. I think the "stock" look lends itself to the pseudo realism of the Yenko SW, which might help me sell it for a better price. Hoping to know today.

It might be the right price? I don't really know how to value it, but I figured I'd put in on Craigslist and see what happens. Its not mine as of yet... current owner is dragging his feet.
