Hi a newbie here. I have a 72 el camino that was my first car bought it in 1987 had it painted in 88 and its been run into the ground ever sense. I am thinking about building it pro-touring style. Does any one have any pics of one built this way? Thanks

Looks good, I have found a 4.8 and 4l65e that I might try to swap in mine.

Beautiful job, Mike!!
My first car was an 83 ElCamino, so i have a soft spot for them. Looking forward to seeing progress on this build and where you go with it.

I got some videos of my auto crossing my 1968 El Camino. Check them out. I was surprised how well I did. I think you will too.

It's in A town called Spencer, Oklahoma. Right outside of Oklahoma City. The track belongs to the Midwest City police department. I guess they use it to train. But they rent it out to various car clubs monthly.

Form what I have read, at least in regards to the 68-72 versions, the el caminos have better weight distribution than the chevelles.

Yea I came across it while surfing ebay. It's pretty much how I had have my 68 in my head (damn I need a rendering!) aside from wanting to go gunmetal grey and 18x11 Forgelines or similar. Oh and LS3 T56 etc, but the body is spot on IMO.
It was, I actually sold it recently. I figured at the amount they depreciate, I could pour all that into the 68 and have way more fun watching the pennies disappear! Went well with a fairly agressive cam and all the bolt ons. Got me well hooked on LS power.
I suppose the GTO just isnt the same...what are your import laws like? Would be cake to convert to LHD :)
