they can only air racing that they have a contract to air. and they probably have exclusivity contracts with the race organizations they do air that doesn't allow them to air competing race series.
i saw a complete list of every race series they cover, and it's a LOT more than just NASCAR and Monster Jam.

i know they cover other stuff. But it just seems every time it turn on there speed channel it's "Inside speed Nascar edition" or some stupid **** where they gossip about everything Nascar for 3 hours. Like those cackling hens on that TV show "the View"!!!!


Also I don't need to see reruns of the Barret-Jackson auction years 2003,4,5,6 ect ever again... FOR ANY REASON!!!!! ugh

I actually enjoy the barret jackson reruns. Loved it for years and then 2 years ago got the chance to go to west palm beach to the actualy auction and love it even more now. They have so much to see besides just cars. Yea it can get boring seeing the same cars over and over.

Got to see the 69 camaro that was for the warrior relief i believe was the charity.

I have taken to watching the Mecum Auto auctions on HD theater. Their auctions seem to be mostly in the mid west heart land of the country. And compared to Barret- Jackson it seems to be a little more average joe type cars when compared to some of the pie in sky stuff you see at barret auctions. I like that. But it's probably just the fact that I haven't seen every episode from the year 2000 fifty times over.

Also on HD theater is "Chasing classic cars" with host Wayne Carrini. This is also a cool show because I learn a lot about stuff I would otherwise never see. as this show focuses on old foreign sports cars....And yes that Camaro is choice!

I love that show. I like to watch CORR racing on speed, I think its HD Theater that has the air races that are crazy, 90* turns at 400+ mph 70 ft off the ground

Speed has sucked for a long time. It is just the NASCAR network without a subscription. When the original Speedvision people sold out we lost so much coverage of sports car, touring car, desert off road, air racing, various boat racing................basically everything went down hill. They don't even do the old mid day rebroadcast of the F1 races any more.

There is some good racing and plenty of good car shows spread out all over the channels. It was just nice back in the day when it was all in one place. A day like today in Jersey, raining and nothing to do, all I used to have to do was put on Speedvision and I would have a full day of entertainment.

While I have my gripes with the Speed channel, they still offer a lot of good content. Unfortunately, you have to actively look for it. Thank goodness for DVR. They air Rolex races live and then replay them a couple of times afterwards. The Grand Am Continental Tire Sports Car Series races are usually shown a week after they happen in slightly condensed form.

Speed also shows some random stuff late at night. For a while, they were airing FIA GT races, which were awesome. They also air various touring car races (German, British, and mostly Australian V8 Supercars.)

Lately, they've stopped airing ALMS races (as they no longer have any rights to the series) and they also dropped SCCA World Challenge. Both of these series are still on the air, just not on Speed.

Given the popularity of shows like Pinks and Pass Time, I think they could get away with just streaming coverage of a different drag strip each week.

I really wish Speed would focus on more road racing series. Their coverage of the SCCA nationals is fun, why not show the NASA nationals? Or even some choice regional races? Maybe they could put the SCCA Trans Am series back on the air. Any of those options would be way better than anything related the hacks at West Coast Customs . . . or Pimp My Ride re-runs . . . or that 72 hour car build-off show. Gosh Speed has some terrible programming.
