i have measured and I think it will. but I don't want to buy a set and find out that it won't . I am trying to fit 20x10's in the rear without too much hassle. If anybody has done this already let me know...........thanks

20x10's with 5.5"-6" backspacing should fit your 72 fine.

Check out "Rims are in for the GOAT"

Listed under General Discussion. Dated 6-18-05. I have already done a test fit on my car. The guys on this forum have helped me out tremendously. As you know, this is an expensive purchase and you can't return them if you are having custom back spacing done. 68-72 car wheel wells should all be the same on GM A-bodies.

Back in the late 90's,I ran 20x10 TT II's with 275/35/20 Michelin Pilots on the rear of my 68 El Camino. With 5.5" backspacing, they fit fine & had lots of room to go bigger. 6" backspacing would have worked fine, too.
