I added a few things to my 56 F100 that some might find interesting. This truck is sort of a pro-touring "shop truck" with an aircraft inspired interior.

I bought some Kirkey Vintage Bucket seats and added some touched to them to make them easier to install and look a bit like aircraft seats. I had Eric Thorsen in Agoura Hills upholster them. I built an aluminum frame to mount them on. This frame spans the cab and attaches to the floor in the same location as the original bench seat. In time I will add an alumimum riveted skin to this frame, and use it as a storage location with some access doors.

To activate the Sparco seat sliders I fabricated an aluminum bar, with holes drilled in, painted red to emulate some type of emergency release handle. I've got one installed so far. I had a graphics shop make me a bunch of sticker templates of various "words" I can paint onto the interior. I found a USAAF font from WWII. I used these templates to paint the word "PULL" on top of the seat slider bar, since you have to pull it up to activate. Sort of fun.

I also got some of the Moal designed Classic Instruments gauges. I fabricated an aluminum binacle to mount them into the stock cluster location without modifying the dash too much. The rest of the gauges got mounted below the cluster in the dash. I can see all the gauges through the upper view hole in the Momo steering wheel. You can also see the Ididit column I installed. I like my ergonomics with the steering wheel rather high, and close, and as vertical as I can get it. The position of the steering wheel turned out quite well.

Next is to re-wire this thing, as the Ron Francis loom is looking like a rat's nest. I'll rewire from scratch using MIL-C-26482-II connectors in Olive drab to pass through the firewall. Just for fun.

Nice. Gauges and bezel are sweet.
