I have an electric speedo and a TKO 600, how do I get the speedo to operate properly with tire size/gear ratio etc?

get an inline VSS that turns the speedo gear output into an electrical signal the speedo can use.

contact the company that made your speedo and talk to them, i'm sure they can hook you up with the proper pieces and knowledge to get it done.

I'm going to make a big assumption that you have an Autometer electronic speedo.

To make the connection from your TKO600 you need this 2 wire switch connector http://www.rockauto.com/dbphp/x,catalog,154,partnum,TX3A,d,STANDARD_MOTOR_PRODUC TS_TX3A.html .

The connection is on the passenger side of your Tremec. Splice enough wire to the new connector to make it into the car, choose wherever you want to run the wires into the car (Trans tunnel, firewall, etc)

There is no polarity to the 2 wires. One wire will connect to the SIG (signal) terminal on the speedo, the other wire to a ground .... not the GRD terminal on the speedo (ask me how I know).

That's it!!

Electronic speedometers are calibrated to display the actual vehicle speed by driving the car to 60 MPH and setting the speedometer to match the vehicle speed. To accomplish this you will need a speed generator which can be purchased at www.ronfrancis.com if you need to buy one. You may or may not be able to use a factory speed generator, which would be built into the transmission. You need to know the exact procedure as quoted by the manufacturer of your particular brand. It takes the tire size and axle ratio out of the mix and makes it fairly fool-proof. Give the gauge manufacturer a call with a model number. It is probably the only way to accomplish this.

This is right
