Has anyone had this happen to them? What is the process? I filed the claim and UPS picked up the wheels and returned them to the manufacturer but that was almost a month ago.
Has anyone else gone through this? What was your experience like? Did they get the wheel back to you in a timely fashion?

has the mfg contacted you? If not you should have been calling UPS and the mfg to see what is happening. Squeeky wheel gets the lube...

I have had fantastic luck with claims for damage caused by UPS, Fed Ex, on insured packages. If the wheel company insured them they are probably already paid.

Same here, so long as the shipment went out with insurance, FedEx 'usually' takes care of it pretty quickly.

So it sounds like i should be pissed at the wheel MFG right now. UPS shows they received the wheel on July 12th. I'm assuming they approved the damage claim.
I've sent 5 or 6 emails and called twice and haven't gotten a response from the wheel guys on what they plan on doing.

Finally got an answer. Has anyone had UPS decline the damage charges? That is what they are claiming now.

If the wheel box was not insured, then I can see that happening. OR worse, if the box was not insured, and does not rate high enough to pass their "drop test". I remember a long time ago UPS saying, unless the box could drop from a second story building to the ground, an not come apart, it wouldn't pass. Crazy, right?

It is not your responsibilty to package it in approved packaging or to insure it properly. They owe you a wheel, period.

I had an iForged wheel show up damaged and UPS paid to have it fixed. The turn around time wasnt bad at all, still a PITA

Be thankful it wasn't shipped FedEx. I've had two claims against them and they weaseled out of both. Their ground service is terrible.

I agree, either UPS or the vendor needs to replace the wheel.
Paul, I have had the opposite experience, UPS damages more stuff and is a pain to deal with, Fedex Ground has been very good to deal with, no damaged parts yet.

That is interesting. I'm dealing with iForged now. When you say turnaround isn't bad how long did it take? Longer than 3 weeks?
I was previously involved in the shipping business. The claim is between the manufacturer and UPS. Whether or not the claim is denied has nothing to do with you. (The only exception is if you requested shipping be charged to another shipper's account.)
If the wheel is in stock they should have sent another out as soon as they received the damaged one back from UPS. If it is made to order then it would take however long to make a new one.

iForged is shorthanded personnel wise, and they don't actually manufacture their wheels in house. I've had a few get damaged in shipping, and UPS will try to play games most of the time. Either way, you will receive a repaired or replacement wheel from iForged. Getting things like this done quickly is always the problem, as it also depends on their manufacturer's schedule.

I want to say it took no longer than 3 weeks from the time UPS picked up the damaged wheel until the new one arrived. I will say that iForged DOES NOT have good customer service. They(iForged) were very rude when I called them back to tell them one of the wheels was damaged. I dont blame UPS for the damage to my wheel, It was a dime-sized nick that looked like it was there before it went in the box. I think someone knew they did it but just figured they would send it anyway and blame it on UPS, which they did. The shipping box looked perfect.
