"different" isn't quite what I was thinking. Did you see that Buy-It-Now??? I don't think there is $19,000.00 worth of parts on that thing.

Ummm, yeah. I like these comments;
Carter AFB racing carb, Six speed Richmond Racing Transmission, Accelerates like a sport bike I didn't realize the AFB was such a hot "racing" application carb, and ohhh a Richmond "racing" version of the same 6-speed everyone else can buy. Maybe he meant accelerates like a 250 sport bike, because at only 450HP it isn't accelerating like any Ducati.
Got rag on them....I hate when dealers get a hold of this stuff and misrepresent so bad.

Actually....it looks like the guy has a lot of hard work into it. It's not a bad build. And I'll bet it goes pretty good too. But Monza's are not very exciting, and that wing is absolutely ridiculous.

When I saw the pic in the auction I thought I had seen it before in some magazine. I did, Car Craft 1984 and it states that in the auction. That thing predates the BIG RED and was probably cutting edge at the time.

Okay... I guess I'm just crazy. I really like that car. If that is a real Monza Mirage, it's possible it has some racing "history."
The wing is a little too big, but that could be fixed.
I'm sure the guy has at least 2 times the "buy-it-now" price invested. It's really easy to get over your head. I'm sure that I'm not the only guy on Pro-Touring who is over his head on money invested.

would have been cool in the 80's, not so much today.

I used to have a soft spot for the imsa syle cars, built a lot of car models with the greenwood body kits. Its different.
Maybe the wing should be larger...

Wouldnt that wing lift the front of the car as it pushed on the rear?

I kind of like it,wing could be shortened some,but i like the greenwood and imsa style bodys.

I bought a new 1977 Monza Mirage in early 1978. The car sat on the showroom for quite awhile before I came along. I modified the car quite a bit but nothing like that. That car is kinda cool in its own way,though.
