Column or floor shifter

I am planning to switch to an aftermarket column, possibly an ididit for my '61 Impala.

My decision to make/question is should I go with a column with the shifter on it or switch to a floor shift?

If I go with a floor I am considering a pistol grip in a black finish. like this one....

FYI I have a bench seat in the front.

IMHO I like column shifters with bench seats. I had a 69 Chevellle with a B&M shifter and bench seat that never looked quite right.

I'm using a lokar 23" floor cable shifter and one of their LED shift indicator boots. I have a front bench right now too. I tend to really like ridiculously tall shifters for automatic trans. I also really hate messing with column shifters. I went with an ididit column too.

My Bench will stay for now, then at some point i want to switch to low back buckets and fab an aluminum console to hold the holley EFI lcd, boost controllers and stereo that I'm planning on.
