I'v seen this on CL for a while and it sound like a real good deal, I have a 68 camaro with drum brakes all around and wanted to do an LS1 brake swap but these C5 fronts are cheaper and larger then the LS1 camaro fronts i still plan on runing LS1 rear disc brakes w/ the e-brake.

My question is, I call the guy and he said "it fits both disc and drums", but from what i have read the HUBS need to be muchined down to fit the rotor, do u guys think i should buy the kit any ways and at worst all i would have to do is muchine my hubs?

I wonder if he could have possibly posted a smaller picture?

I would ask him if they are PBR calipers or knockoffs. I could not see the Corvette logo, but then again my magnifying glass is in the other room....

Ask him if pads and anti-rattle springs are included, and what brand pads.

If all is legit I'd say it is a decent deal. If you have specific wants/needs for rotors and pads, and would have to replace those items I'd look elsewhere.

Yes - you will have to machine your drum hubs so that the rotor will slip over them.

I spoke with him a while back ago and he said that they are not OEM calipers, I am going to call him later today and ask the rest of the questions.

The strange part is he had told me that i did not have to do any modifications to my hubs, he said they shouldbolt right up but that dose not sound rite to me

So I called and asked he said that pads are included and that the calipers are aftermarket and they have the anti-rattle spring included,

This is actually a C4 rotors & C5 caliper kit and that I would not need to machine anything.

I looked around on line and it looks like people use to do these before Idk if its still popular but it sound good to me for the $360 price I don't think I can beat it any one have any experience with this sort of set up ?

The only reason I'm aware of to use the c4 rotor is for wheel clearance.

If you have room at the spokes I'd run the newer rotor.

You said you had drums which does have the hub but usually needs to be turned down.

chad, I do have drums and he said the reason for running a C4 rotor is because I don’t need to do anything to the hubs and that the C4 rotor would fit the stock hub, dose that sound right?

price the stuff out locally.. can probably get everything except the mounting bracket at NAPA for about that price.

I'm not sure. Here is some more info for you to reference:
http://www.pozziracing.com/12_corvette_brakes_on_fgen.htm

This addresses mostly the 12" rotor and not the 13" HD rotor so I'm not sure if the 13" HD rotor comes with a slightly larger hole for the hub. You could always just measure your hub and ask the guy to measure the rotor.

I've done a few C4 setups and the hubs need to be turned down. This isn't a big deal though.

Thanks for all the info guys,

I Looked around online but it actualy came out to about +$500 but that would be running OEM calipers not aftermarket ones.

I think that for the price its the best bang for my buck.

This is my first full build and i think i can up grade to bigger brakes in the future as my driving skills grow. I just hope that these brakes have enough bite to stop my 20x9 up front (3pc forged alloys).
