Hey Guys and gals,
Im in the process of moving my CHEVY 350 motor back 3" in a 59" Apache truck and was wondering on how much (Weight) is being moved to the middle and rear of the vehicle? or better yet off the front end.... Does anyone have a simple calculation that I can apply to my vehicle specs? or maybe some (scale) numbers before and after?

i don't know the math, but i'd say not very much. probably less than moving the battery to the rear of the vehicle.
if you've got the room, you should consider also dropping it down as low as you can get it to drop the CG.

Novaderrik,

Yes I am also going to drop the motor down but don't know on how much drop as of yet because the motor is away from the truck. oil pan and header clearance have to be addressed before I make motor mounts.
Plus moving the motor down will only affect the left to right roll (CG)? correct? not concerned about braking or accelerating at this point.

What I am after is a way to measure how much mass I can take off the front end and move it towards the middle by moving the motor back a few inches.
I am working on a truck that has most of the mass in the front and need to reduce it by moving some things around. Think autocross....
