I just picked up this GTO, its a 69 with a BDS 6-71 blown pontiac 400, turbo 400, and 12 bolt. i have a few ideas, but because im going to be using the San Diego base hobby shop to work on it I am limited to what all I can do. I will try to update it when I can, but for now I have to rebuild the motor. Im going to paint it PPG enviorbase with a matte clear. Im also going to look into a TCI 700r4. Im looking for some suggestions for wheels, I have Coys C55 17s on my 72. I like the mean 5 spoke look. Any suggestions?

All I can think of is the car in My Science Project with the blower that only came on when the guy flipped a switch.

Nice starting point!

Too Funny I was thinking the same thing. My Sience Project and Mad Max.

Awesome project! I had my 69 GTO in the Camp Pendleton hobby shop and 29 palms one a few times, So I know how that goes. I will be watching this build, hopefully getting a few ideas. I cant wait to start PT'ing mine!

Are you planning to keep the blower or go with an N/A set up that fits below the hood?

RicerwannaB Did you have any problems when the car was at the hobby shop? I am a little uneasy about letting my car there.

NJSPEEDER: I am keeping the blower, but Im trying to figure out a different intake setup, im not too keen on it sticking through the hood soo much, a little isnt bad but this is a little much.

Anyone have any suggestions for wheels?

Love it!

If it were me, I'd go with something like the Vintage Wheel Works V40 or V45, they're even a pretty reasonable price and look more period-correct than something like the Coys.

The most you can lower the total height is by going to EFI with a scoop that seals and can be set properly to act as a throttle body but that is a pricey proposition.

I decided on a set of wheels, It goes perfect with the goal of the project. The only thing is instead of the silver strip on the wheel I wanna do a red stripe. Im going to TRY to do 18x9 in the front and 19x 10 in the back. Anyone have any input?

Just thought I would give you guys a little piece of the progress. I have A LOT to add to this thread but I am going to restart it under the official name once the rendering is done. This is three weeks in. I just places a BIG order with SC&C, KORE3 is next. The build is moving along, I have to work with and conform to procedures and standards here on the hobby shop. Its slowing progress a good amount but Im dealing. Hopefully the rendering will be done in a week or soo and I will be able to restart the thread.
