Well, I've been around for a while...have lurked and seen many fine machines...then finally decided it was time to drop that LSx motor into my ride! Thanks to many guys on this forum for the inspiration while I toiled overseas time-n-time again!

After 17 yrs and many iterations, I decided big brakes, EFI motor, and all the luxuries of a new car were due....

thanks guys! Yeah, I bought the car when my daughter was three years old! She's now in her third year of college! It's my 12 year old son's turn now!

I had the car's body work and paint done 11 years ago. Upon my last return from an overseas tour in Nov '10 i decided to get an LS set-up for the car (Thanks Travis!). Thinking I only needed to do the conversion, I set out for a two month job... well, once Brian and his crew at ScreaminPerformance started into it, the truth of 43 years of driving came to light! I had to redo the floors, etc if I wanted a solid ride!

So, here we are, 9 months later awaiting the "birth" of my baby! More pics to follow as we get ready to fire her up!

Looks great, how about coming out to Old Town Kissimmee once the weather cools off and the car is done? I'm drooling over the Baer brakes. Did you have any fitment probs with the rear rotors clearing the lip around the center of the axles? I just read on one of the big brake company's web sites that some axles would interfere with the rear rotor.

Oh, before you slap on the front clip, do the G-mod to go with those nice new A-arms.

Craig,

Here's the link to RaceLine http://www.racelinewheels.com/p-187-239-gt-2-piece.aspx Look around at their two-piece line... though most would say the wheels are for Mustang, I just loved the way they looked and had to have them on my 'vert.

David,

Had to find out the answer on the rear brake set-up... no problem. Fit like it was meant to. the kit was bolt-on. Now, it needs to be noted that I have the 8.2 10-bolt (yeah original 12-bolt gone long time ago) so the Baer kit was made for that application.

Brian and I talked about the G-mod... since I really wanted a great driver with 21-century handling and was NOT looking to build a track car, I elected to forego the mod.

See you in Old Town this Fall!

Well folks,

I've been off the grid for awhile and figured it's about time for an update.... last we saw our wayward hero he was working hard to get the $ together to finish his baby! In addition, dealing with the end of the Space Shuttle program, deployments back and forth to Afghanistan, as well as paying for his daughter's college fund!....

But good news is most of the wiring is in the final stages... the fuel system is being bent-up and installed, and the exhaust should be going in soon. Hopefully we will be firing this puppy up! I know Travis (Daytonayellaz) is (im)patiently waiting as am I.... Brian is shooting for Turkey day as the final. Here is some "eye candy" that holds me over...

You are correct Kev...no windshield at this moment. In order to put the SS trim in, you have to have the windshield out. So, Brian has to install the trim then get the windshield back in... As you can tell, she's not totally done. Still a few "odds-n-ends" to attend to...

Well, I'm back from overseas and I just HAD to go to Brian's to check on "Pro-crastination"! Braving the "Florida liquid sunshine", I took my son and his best bud (another avid Camaro freak!) up to Screamin' to look her over! To say I am impressed is an understatement! Brian has far out done my expectations and she runs great, though a trip to the chassis dyno is needed to make sure all is perfect! Brian and his bunch at ScreaminPerformance achieved the "oem" look with modern horsepower I was going for!

We took her for a short ride across the causeway.. while driving, my son's friend made the best statement of the ride, "Mr. Tony, this car is gonna cause a lot of accidents!" based on the reactions of other drivers around us... I am loving it!

Brian has a few odds-n-ends to work out (speedo is still giving us trouble) and it's a 90% chance of rain today (no complaints since Africa was the EXACT opposite!) so I will pick her up in a few days...

We trailer-ed my baby over to O-town for a Mike Norris test-n-tune on Friday! To say I am pleased is an understatement!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVPWXG5uky8&feature=youtu.be
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcaOfd7XWKk&feature=youtu.be

Mike said she was running a bit lean so he "fattened" her up. Additionally he sweetened the shift points.. All in all we were very pleased! She threw down 361rwhp/364tq... that's a respectable 450 at-the-crank.

6050160502

I was so happy that I drove her back to the coast; top down, A/C cranking, 90MPH, and still got 20MPG! Now that's cruising!... Sorry if I offend anyone with my language on the vids... I'm a pilot! I'm happy!

Ryan,

Stock LS2 w/ headers and a "Mike Norris" tune.. nothing too fancy, but kicks ASS! (compared with the anemic 350 that was in there)...

...took her out to a local car show over the holiday weekend... enjoyed all the looks from the "Corvette" purists... a lot of fifth gens, but only two first gens... and of course only one with LS2 power!

...I haven't been on in a while... but look who got his permit!! Uh Oh!! I need to hide the keys!106718

I am in the process of swapping out the seats for ProCar rallyes... I am having them redone in blue and white leatherette... Should look OEM. I'll post up in a few weeks once they are in.

Hide the keys? Lockum up!! It must have felt like a lifetime waiting for that permit! He's the best cruising buddy you'll ever have.

Thanks Wayne... yeah, so that he doesn't want to drive the Camaro, I figure we will build an FFR 818S. That will be our "trackcar" and something we can do together before he is off on his own! (818 is not mine, it's a friend's)

BTW, how goes your '69? haven't seen any updates in a while....

WOW! It's been a while since I've done anything to my baby (hence the name "Pro-crastination")... Well, I've finally got some seats with comfort and style put in her. ProCar Rallyes with custom leather upholstery... Now I can cruise without sitting on the "pizza boxes" of the originals... Maybe do some autocross too! Good thing we ordered extra fabric...looks like I need to do the interior panels too... that will be next month...111323111324111325

For those that were wondering... I did pick-up a nice little Mustang for my son's first car (couldn't pass up the $500 deal) so he WON'T be driving my Camaro!! 111326111327

He'll be competing in his first Solo II event next week! I'm a proud Papa!
