I have always wanted to do my 82 Regal as a WinstonCup/NASCAR inspired flair build.

I've seen the threads posted by ZuperZport ,72torinocup,and Shorttrack on their builds using a orginal Winston Cup/Nascar Chassis, and it go me going in that realm.

Now with no Chassis to work with for my build, I will work with what I have.

I want to run those 15" NASCAR rims and those wide tires, with those cool big brakes in the back.

The suspension will not include a truck arm suspension, but all the great suspension stuff thats out there for G-bodies.

I do have a question tho, if I should do the flared out fenders and radiused wheel wells wich gets the car lower, this seems to be norm on all those 80's G-bodied Winstoncup/Nascar rides. Or just flare the fenders?

Then there are the GNX flares when done with the correct GNX mods that fit and tuck the wider wheel tire combo?

Yes the doors will open and the interior will have racing buckets surronded by a 6 point rollbar but have a removeable crossbar for back seat acess , a Cyberdyne digital dash, auto on the floor.

My son said he do a photoshop of what I want then I display it here.

Thanks all

Sounds like a fun idea and a great autocross killer. In the past I've seen used Nascar slicks for cheap on ebay for mock ups or maybe even find a set you can get to use a bit.

I say if you're after the look and you have the means make it as authentic as possible. I'm not a big fan of driving down the road with numbers and stickers ala full Nascar look but doing the sheet metal with decent paint would be fun to see.

Nope no Stickers per-sey ,but I do want to ghost in the vendors names on the rear part of the fenders and front half of the doors... then just the big BUICK one on the header panel, and the shadowed "Buick"'s on the quarters, like on the 82 GN.

Definately 2 tone paint, Black & Silver, Flat Black & Lime Green, or Flat black & Orange, done opposite of yours, with the flat Black on top. I do however have several pictures of the early 80's Winston Cup Buick cars and some of there paint designs are in my thoughts.
Can't wait for my son to photoshop one together , or I may freehand it.

The rims will be black with the accent color pinstriped on them, not sure about running NASCAR slicks on the street so good ole radials or drag radials will be on them , thinking 255/60/15 thats 10" wide and about 27" tall, close to NASCAR tire sizes.

I do have a homemade rear adustable alumunimum spoiler & rear window blowout straps , and a front one piece airdam that is 1" lower,

Still tossing if I should Radius and flare the fenders or just flare them, and should I keep the chrome trim and chrome bumpers like they did, or black it out?

Nothing like a mid-80's cup car. Very cool looking, good luck!

Thats a great idea for a build! Back when the race versions actually looked like the car they were based on. I like it!

I like the way the front end is done on this ISMA Kelly American Challange Buick Regal driven by Patty Moise in 1984.

Love that Eagle in the grille, there is that BUICK on the header panel I mentioned earlier. Note the Hood Buldge. I have GN Hood, WoooHoo!!
It does sit lower, and has a front airdam, yep have one also, more ridge tho.

See the color on the raised area of the hood would like to do that on mine.

If you look at Amir Rosenbaum's 1970 Camaro from Spectre Performance he has modeled this car after the 1974 IROC camaro. The car did retain the rear leaf springs but look at the fender flares.
