Has anyone heard of any particular LS7 / Z06 oiling issues ?
I know Ron S. recently had an oiling problem and engine failure on his LS7.
And I've heard they have a problem on long left-hand sweepers .
Does anyone know the root cause and solution for this problem ?

An interesting read here:

Dreamin has a follow up topic for his LPE tank installation and another for the data logging

Yikes! It seems the LPE oil tank is in my future. The very near future, because I'm going to VIR on the 23rd.

Yes, I have also read several threads about LS7 oil starvation on corvette forum. Problems started to occur for the z06 crowd when switching over to stickier tires.
Here's a pretty informative synopsis by Avaid:

If you have the original design tank I would be looking for an upgrade before hitting the track. I would also look into doing something inside the pan to keep the pickup from pulling in air next. Many interesting ideas and opinions in those topics.

I've got an early '07 that has already had a blown motor replaced under warranty once. I'm looking at the 09 tank (2 more quarts) and the LPE (3 more, but with an ugly welded-on wart on the side).
As far as the pan goes, from what I can see, a left-hand turn actually helps the suction side, so I'm a bit skeptical on the pan mods. I think more capacity is the main fix.
The other thing to look at is if VIR has any long left-hand sweepers (most are right-hand due to clockwise tracks).
Edit: Turn 3 could be a problem....

John, I have ridden around VIR in a stock Z06 turning very quick laps with no oiling issues. Don't sweat it. We were turning 2.09 laps. This car runs there regularly with no issues.

VIR won't be a problem, no real long sweepers. The stock oil pan is the issue. My car had a 3 gallon tank, and still blew up. The stock pan will work in conjunction with the Avaid trap door baffling, or the $1580 ARE pan.
