I go with "Grand Prix" just by the fact of it's unique Cinemaphotography for the time and that I saw it when it first came out in.... "Cinerama"!!! Big Honkin' Screen!

Lemans also.

Both McQueen and Garner were Drivers!

I know it's obvious, but the Fast and Furious movies are not bad. Just ignore the paint and plastic body parts from the earlier ones, and you're good--there are five to choose from, which is good. As for sound, the aforementioned Bullitt cannot be beat. For TV, Top Gear can't be beat--Hulu has now posted their shorter competitor for free; it's called Fifth Gear, which is cool, because my old crow, or Falcon, has a T5...

Most of the above mentioned and
Driver (1978) Where else can you watch a 73/74 C10 run down a 1976 Trans Am
Transporter the first one, that opening chase is worth the whole movie.
Ronin, any movie that use F1 drivers to scare the hell out of the actors is aces.
McQ, just a really cool green TA
The 7ups, The Ventura really gets it.

I really like the movies with car chases in them.

If you want a silly movie with cars.......Used Cars.

hate to say it, but the Nick Cage "Gone in 60 Seconds" is a guilty pleasure of mine.

A truly great car flick is "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins. AWESOME movie! If you haven't seen it, rent it today!

From above, Dazed and Confused and Ronin!

For all out awesome car chases, The Bourne Identity and The Italian Job.

America in the future,
but sadly we are almost there.

Corvette Summer1978
Mark Hamill and '73 Corvette

The Hollywood Knights (1980)
My fav, pretty much like my young years.
No chases, but lots of cool cars and street racing.
And I could listen to that blower WHINE all night long.

Original Gone in 60 seconds, They used one Mustang for the whole chase, When they wrapped the car around the pole they were going to stop filming but since the car kept running they kept on filming. I'm guessing that's where they came up with "Built Ford Tuff" They just couldn't kill that car.

Whenever Ronin comes across my DVR, I fast forward to the car chases. They are epic. The movie is so-so, but there are two incredible sequences in there.

Dazed and Confused is definitely a great one, that 70 Chevelle SS is my favorite movie car of all time.

As said, the new Gone in 60 Seconds is a guilty pleasure if nothing else, Eleanor was pretty awesome before the clone wars started after the movie, still a sharp car.

American Graffiti

How did that take 27 posts to come up, as for great car movies in my mind its at the top. I love the white Impalla.

*Edit* I do have to say my favorite quote is by Mattthew McConaughey in Dazed and Confused "I hope you brought your wood screws, cuz I'm gonna blow your doors clean off"
