Was hoping for high 11's and 120+ mph, but as you can see I left like a minivan from the can-can sale at Shoprite and the air/temp this Friday was real crap. Even the bracket racers and forced ind guys were off by 3-4 tenths and 3-4 mph. Had the timing too high, so it was breaking up a bit on the top. Was all set to go again, right press in the mt radials, etc, etc and the skies opened up.
I suppose it's decent on a street tune, but leaving a lot on the table. Looking into some carbs, and more tuning and WILL get low 11's and 125+ next time.

Thanks Ray!
It was actually breaking up a bit on the top due to too much timing, air, and a slight lean condition. In the Carb section, I mention leaving a lot on the table with the current intake and carb. I am choking it with the current 850, so definitely need to go bigger while maintaining the street manners it has. I'll have a defferent intake and carb the next time.
The exhaust is:
Stainless Works 2" primary headers, 3" collectors to 3" pypes X pipe and 3" Flowmasters (they are hurting hp big time) to angled dumps. I plan on Magnaflo's and tail pipes this winter. I need to fab the tail pipes to fit around the G-Bar.
Thanks again,
Rob

Ouch! LOL! I know. I wasn't concerned with my reaction time. First trip with the drag radials and was purely interested in seeing how it all worked. I wasn't about to side step the clutch at 4000 with so many new components. I was working toward a harder launch, then the skies opened up and ended the day early.
I plan to go to next year's RTTS for sure, so hope to see you there Scott.

Yes sir. 4 point.
Interesting. It's cool that they let you run. You're not legal. 4 point ain't good enough for IHRA/NHRA for verts faster than 13.49. Unfortunately, I know. At least you can bolt in if you add a 5th point (assuming your roll bar setup meets the rest of the requirements). With mine, I'd have to weld directly to the frame so that's out.

Sound like you did a pretty good job of shifting. What gear did you go through the traps in?

2011 IHRA rulebook has the roll bar cutoff at 11.49 in the 1/4 and 7.49 in the 1/8 mile. Quite a bit slower, if it's a convertible. Oh, and one track I run at says you have to have a roll bar to run in Top (0-7.99) no matter what your dial-in. Individual tracks can make and/or enforce most any deal they want

The OP was 1/4 mile, in a convertible. 13.49 my man. That's what I was talking about.
Tracks often do their own thing, but over recent years I've observed them getting more and more picky about any safety enforcement due to liability.

It was a rental day and it doesn't see the 1/4 that much to warrant a 6 point. The 4 point stiffens the car up while providing some rollover pretection.

Totally agree. Local track here doesn't seem to care. If you're 13.49 or better, you're off the track - period - in a vert without a 5-6pt cage. It's very cool that your track is more friendly. Wish more were like that.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for being safe, but most modern mustang, camaro, and corvette verts are going faster than that off the showroom. Not that my 40+ year old camaro is anywhere nearly as safely designed as those cars, but whose installing 6 point bars in their brand new gt500 vert that sees the track once in a while. Time for the Nhra to revisit.

Good question, I haven't checked. Will have to put a vac gauge on it and see.

Nice thought but will never happen. Attorneys. If anything it will get worse.

My combo has 1 5/8 headers amd a 750 carb with a DP intake. I am pulling 8" vac @ WOT...too much but too poor currently to change stuff!

Whats the point in signing the waiver form then? I thought that prevents any BS coming back to the track guys incase your an idiot?

Is that the close ratio T56 or the other one with 50% overdrive in 6th gear.
rob07002

It's the close ratio box. T56 Magnum with the 2.66 first and .82 6th. I really like the gearing choice and actually use 6th with 4:10's and a 25.5" tall tire.
