Broken BEAST sunshell

How many broken BEAST sunshells have there been recently? I've heard rumors that they are now being made overseas, and the quality is not the same anymore. Is there any truth to this?

Is there a better & stronger option than the BEAST now? I've heard that Sonnax has a new shell available, but nobody knows anything about its durability.

I had one in my truck wear funny, 700R4, and the teeth were gone. Only had maybe 1000 miles on that rebuild, and the truck only has about 100hp(tbi 350).
