Morning guys,

An acquaintance of mine and owner of Starlite Customs in Torrance had his 1967 Camaro stolen in Escondido, Ca (North County San Diego) some time in the last 24 hours. This car was in action at RTTC this last year and some of you might remember it. Below is a facebook link with pics of the car. Please be on the lookout!

Thank you,
Don

A car like that sticks out enough to be easy to find. I would try and contact the people at the Task Force For Regional Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP) with your 10851 report and detailed pictures, they might be able to put together a BOL poster for that car. Did you have LoJack installed?

Maybe we as a community can help? Assuming it's not in Mexico or some F'rs garage, we could cruise our local body shops and look for identifying parts. The color is a dead give away, so I'd guess it gets primered first.

Prob a long shot, but I'd be down to help any way I can...

I am almost as far south as you can get. I'll hit up a few shops in National City and Chula Vista tomorrow and keep a sharp eye.

I go to dinners at the resturant right across the street from Starlite Customs and used to see the Camaro there all the time. I will keep my eyes open for that champange Camaro, it is unique to say the least. Car theives should be hung like horse theives!

PS we should all keep an eye on Criagslist too.

Are there any really unique parts on the car that we should be aware of? What wheels are those exactly? List them and I'll periodically use searchtempest.com to check the local craigslist listings.

Guy's I don't know a whole lot yet because I'm in AZ. When I get a chance to speak with Jack in detail I'll report specifics. I believe there was a car show down in SD and Edgar stayed there Friday night in Escondido. The guy's at the shop have been touring the local scene's to bring in work and used the car to open the eye's of the muscle car crowd. Starlite had the cover and several pages in the latest Rod & Custom with Jacks 1960 Ford Starliner. They need to bring in work and you can't do that when one of your nicest cars is kept in a trailer or at a shop.

Don, why don't you post up your phone number in the event someone stumbles upon it or sees it on a trailer.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! Man, I am going to miss this car if it is not recovered.

Here are some pics I have of it. The wheels on it on page one are TCI's, it normally has the billet rallys on it.

Just got the OK to put this up:

If you hear or see anything pertaining to the theft of this car, please call 310.328.5222 and ask for Jack. That should be the Starlite shop number.

Best,

Don

Hate to see this happen. That's why everything I build that has more than 4-5k invested gets a $1k Lojack and LOUD alarm. You can also get the Revelco setup so it can't be hot-wired. A little late, but hopefully it'll show up soon in the same condition it was 'borrowed w/o permission'
