Just saw a commercial for this on TV. OK it is a fairly looking car, but don't call it a Regal.

There is no threat of the new car getting confused for the classic muscle cars. It is way under powered and handles like the bushings shocks and springs are made of pudding

Not really. I'm a tech at a GMC Dealership and whenever these come in, I have to say that the fit and finish on them is pretty damn impressive. They handle really well, but sadly they are FWD and that sux. There was a rumor going around saying that they were working on a two door, twin turboed AWD version and they were going to revive the Grand National nameplate..

so it's like 90% of the Regals built in the 80's then..

yes X2.... as an avid G body fan... IMHO their not muscle cars.... one can argue that the GRAND NATIONAL was a high performance history making car.... Muscle car... not so much

I personally love our new Regal. European feel and handling. Striking looks. An interior that will take your breath away. Makes the Cadillac CTS look like a Pinewood Derby Car. I've driven one and I can assure you the bushings, shocks, and springs are not made of pudding, I don't know where you came up with that assumption. The car drives like a dream. The only reason it's FWD and a 4 banger is because if it were RWD with a V8 nobody would look at the CTS.

.....and God forbid ANOTHER Buick Regal steal the limelight from one of our flagship vehicles again (i.e; Buick Grand National stealing Corvette sales in the late 80's).

We have had that one here for some years now, its a rebadged Opel Insignia.

And there is a AWD turbocharged version of it too, http://jalopnik.com/5212806/2010-opel-insignia-opc-vauxhall-vxr-gunning-for-audi-s4

There is a two door insignia coming out in Europe, and the rumor mill was spilling over with the story that GM would bring the 2 door here and mate it with the 325 HP turbo V6 with AWD and call it the Grand National...but I knew it was too good to be true :(

Whatever they call it, it's a good looking car. Wonder how much power that motor can handle. And the coupe is bitchen.

The car you posted a picture of up top is the Regal GS that is set to come out in 2012. gonna be a pretty nice car. I think they are trying to fill the void of the GTO and G8...The Holden (HSV) Commador based G8 had some of the best sales GM has seen and now that it is gone, they need to fill that void.

Holden (HSV) is a company that is dominating in Australia, but more so, they are exporting cars to other contries and also having success.

I will be checking one of these GS's out for the misses when they get around. Should be interested, now with the gas $ up....need horsepower, good looks, and good gas milage...and its hard to come buy all of those at once!

Looks like a Fing jelly bean. I wish Buick Motorsports would open back up and make some real engine parts, fire the presses back up and start making good stuff like SVO and GM Performance.
