New to the site, and wanted to post up some pics of my firebird build in progress. Plans are to give it a pro-touring touch. Great info from this site, so thanks to everyone who contributes. Plans for the car are: pontiac 461 stroker, 2004r tranny, bmw 3 series seats and custom interior, hotchkis tvs w/ 3 inch lowering springs, 4 wheel discs

Thanks. Wheels are 18 inch rated x, 235x40 front, and 275x40 in the back. I don't know the backspacing off the top of my head. I ordered them from Justin at Driverzinc. and he helped me with the measurements.

I think the red looks pretty cool with the black.

Wow another bird in Tampa thats crazy. I go to USF and I'm back in Fort Myers for the summer finishing my bird up. When I get her done we should go for a cruise.

I like your seat set-up, and I'm considering the same for my 69 Camaro. Can you post some pics of the installation process, especially the rear seat? Thanks.

That'd be awesome. I don't live that far from the USF area. Its funny, because I NEVER see any birds on the road down here.

Terry: Will do. The seats should be installed within the next few weeks.

Dirty,

Looking great! Love the "Rated-X" wheels. I'm on the east coast... Maybe we can all meet in the middle sometime (Old Town or Church Street in Orlando) once your dirtybird is finished.

I like you're keeping a real Pontiac motor in there (even if it is the wrong color) :)

Where are you gettinga 200r4 that will live behind it? I've not heard many guys having success behind healthy Pontiacs.

Am i missing something with the engine color ? :-). Granted I am kinda new to this, but what color "should" the engine be? Regarding the transmission, i had a guy down here, build a up the 2004r, to handle the 450+ horsepower I'm expecting. That being said, i don't have any plans on frequent trips to the track. I've heard mixed reviews about the 2004r's so I'll see what happens.

Engine should be Pontiac metallic blue! ;)

Good luck with the car. It looks fantastic so far.

Count me in on that. I'm in the middle between Old Town and Tampa. I'll be bringing a blue F-body with X-rated's as well!

Nice build- love the black. I'll be working on my 68 firebird vert in the fall. Its a painted roller that I have a 5.3/4l60e going in. Just gathering parts now. Keep up the nice work, I'll be following along.
