The installation instructions show the motor needing to be clocked in the 5 o'clock position. But, I have seen many pictures of this unit installed with the motor in the 3 o'clock position.
What adjustments need to be made if this is done?
THANKS

I would call DSE directly they're pretty helpful. I have one of their motors in my Chevelle but I left it in the position they recommended. I am very happy with it even though I have only used it once.

do you have recess park or not? recess clocks at 3. non recess sets higher so I am guessing you have a non recess park?

Mine does have recessed park, I wanted it clocked at 3 o'clock for asthetics, but DSE told me it has to stay at 5 o'clock (although I was not convinced with the enthisiasm with which I was told)........still wondering about this!!

if yours is anything like my 70 chevelle setup, you wont be able to clock the motor. the issue is that there is a trigger plate on the back for the recessed wipers unlike the stock setup. pretty bad design imho and it made my setup a HUGE pita. if you clock the motor, you move the point at which the recess feature triggers. this will mess up both the amount it triggers, and where it all starts and stops.
you can reset the splined arm on the motor to fix it being out of place when clocked. thats the easy part. but you cant change where it triggers for the recessed feature. the dse motor spins an unadjustable number of degrees backwards when shut off. this makes a pin on the arm contact the trigger which effectively lengthens the arm and allows the wiper linkage to get pulled even further down "parking" the wipers.
but you "might" be able to still make it work. if you clock the motor in the 3 oclock position, the motor will spin 60 degrees backwards before the pin on the arm contacts the trigger. this means that the arm that was supposed to lengthen over those 60 degrees, didnt, and now youre left with a recessed feature that only partially recesses. but, if you intermittent the wipers lower and account for the less distance to park, you may be able to overcome this. but (its a theme), if you start them lower and you dont somehow make the stroke longer, you will also end them sooner at the top of the window.
i have to say that i really wasnt a huge fan of their kit. i also have to say that i remote mounted it and didnt follow any directions. my biggest gripe was that their motor actually parked the wipers on my 70 chevelle too far. i put the motors side by side and with battery power, a caliper and a video camera showed them this, but they said it was how it was designed. this left me with my wipers too far up the window during the intermittent or wipers that would bottom out on the cowl and try and rip themselves off. i would expect most would want them just above the hood during intermittent, but mine were about 1/3 up the window.
