I need a new car... and I need some opinions

I have a decision to make. I'm thinking about getting a slightly larger car than I currently have. It is an '03 Mustang GT and love the car (you GM guys may hate me, but what can I say, I'm a swtich-hitter). I only have about 5700 miles on it... :hammer:.

My dillemma is that I want to get something bigger, possibly with 5 seats instead of 4... but still be sporty.

The GTOs look nice, and I think I could snag one for about 18k if I shopped it.

I only have about 18k to spend, however. I need to sell the mustang and trade up... for not too much more.

What do you all recommend?

It's 10 years old now, but the '95-96 Impala SS' are great cars. Is the 'stang auto or stick? Auto or stick for the new car? How about the new charger? It's more than 18k, but you could always finance, not sure if that's an option, though.

I haven't really decided on a transmission type yet. I have Ford's POS auto tranny right now, but I hear only the best out of F-body owners and their M6s. Financing is out of the question... I have great credit, but I just like cash deals more. Plus more cash ends up in my pocket at the end :icon996:. While I like the drivetrain of the Implalas, they look too much like a boat to me. There really are only a couple cars in production at this time that are in this end of the market (even though it has four seats): the Mustang (DEFINATELY the bang for your buck) and the GTO. The new charger is coming out, and i guess the Hemi Dodge Magnum.

Have you thought about the Dodge Durango R/T? It has the 5.9 in it and there's a few bolt on packages out there that can beef that thing up real nice for cheap.

I would get a GTO or a new Charger (with the Hemi of course!). While a lot of people rag on the GTO because of it looks, I dig it. Espescially the W2W black Charger. That thing is BAD!

I would not over look a low milage 87 Buick GN. Still hot looking, respected, seats 5, and damn fast. And you should have money to spare even for a super low mileage one. My frined put a M6 in his SS Impala, it's 2 tons a fun!

Add another vote for the GTO! I love it. Fast as hell like a sports car and roomy like a four door sedan. and the best thing is...it's not a FORD.:wedgie:

I vote for a GN... Ive got lots of friends who own them... Really cool and a 5 seater..

I dont like the GTO... Looks like a Cavalier with a V8... Too importish for me..

EIther way buy the car you want... Not what we tell you..

I love GN"s!!! I have worked on and modded them, but unless I was a compete guru with them, I would never consider one for a daily driver. Even completely stock they are way too undependable. They were kinda too advanced for the time, and also weren't made as good as they could of been, kinda a transfer time for car techonology. THe mass air sensors, computers, O2 sensors, idle control sensors, cooling fan relays etc.. all go bad, and anything repro is a compelte toss up, ACdelco or nothing. I know some guys that caryy MAF's and computres spares in their trunk just in case!
However if it was also a hobby car and you didn't mind working on it, it woudl be a really cool car, just make sure you have about 4 alarms, detachable steering wheel, and a brake pedal club on it....people like to steal them

i drove my friends 6spd gto last night and i came to the conclusion i couldnt have one cause like most everyone else on here id have to mod it so if you wnat something to drive everyday dotn get something that will make you want to mod it
